"Most of the time, I already have the answer. If not, I know who to ask to find it."
When Chrystian talks about his work, it quickly becomes clear that his greatest asset is not only his knowledge of systems, but also the wealth of experience he has accumulated over the years.
Chrystian joined GPR in 2002 and is now approaching 25 years of service. During that time, he has held several positions within the company, including Setup Technician, Supervisor, Programmer Analyst, Quality Director, and Inventory Manager, before moving into his current role as Systems Technician. This diverse experience has given him a deep understanding of the plant, its operations, and the people who work there.
Today, he plays an active role in GPR's digital transformation project while also contributing to production data management and inventory maintenance. Although much of his work takes place behind a computer screen, he still makes it a point to walk through the plant every day.
"I walk through the plant every day."
For him, nothing replaces being close to the shop floor. These daily rounds allow him to stay connected to operations and quickly identify situations that require attention.
The project he is most proud of dates back to 2008, when GPR undertook a major shift toward the digitalization of its operations.
"It was my baby."
Chrystian played a key role in implementing the tools that allowed the company to modernize its production management processes. Even today, he remains particularly attached to this project, which marked an important milestone in GPR's evolution.
What he appreciates most about his work is the autonomy he is given.
"There's no shortage of work. I enjoy having the freedom to decide what I will accomplish while respecting priorities."
That trust allows him to work in his own way while putting his experience to good use for the benefit of the team.
When he speaks about GPR, Chrystian often comes back to the same conclusion: the company has given him the opportunity to build a lasting career in an environment he genuinely enjoys.
"We're like a family."
He values the close relationships between employees, the positive work atmosphere, and the feeling that people can count on one another when challenges arise.
Outside of work, many would be surprised to learn that the man often associated with systems and technology is also highly hands-on. Whether it's electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, or home renovations, he enjoys understanding how things work and figuring out solutions on his own.
His philosophy is simple:
"If someone else did it, I can do it too."
After nearly a quarter-century at GPR, Chrystian hopes to be remembered as a hardworking, dedicated, and loyal person. Someone his colleagues could always count on. And after 25 years of contributing to the company's growth and evolution, that may be the best summary of his journey.
